ActonFire Vermitex AF & DX

Gypsum/Cement-vermiculite coating for fire protection

Vermitex AF

Vermitex AF is a gypsum-vermiculite coating designed for internal use, offering up to 4 hours of fire protection to advanced composites, concrete, polymer-based materials, steel, including alloys, and timber.

Vermitex DX

Made from cement-vermiculite, Vermitex DX provides equal protection to the same materials, but with the added bonus of increased resistance to mechanical abrasion, for example in plant rooms and heavy traffic areas.

Vermitex AF and DX are lightweight coatings that are factor y-blended from expanded vermiculite and inorganic binders. The blend contains millions of micro-dispersed air bubbles that ensure a high resistance to fire and minimal thermal conductivity.

Testing:

Vermitex AF and DX have been successfully tested in accordance with standards AS1530.3, AS1530.4, BS476 20 & 21, and to ASTM E119. The CSIRO has referenced, analysed and assessed the test data for use in the fire protection of various building elements.

Health and Safety:

Vermitex AF and DX contain no asbestos and present no known health hazard before, during or after application. Normal precautions for gypsum products apply, including dust mask, eye protection and covering of sensitive skin.

Coverage:

A bag of Vermitex AF or DX will cover approximately 1m² at a nominal thickness of 50mm.

Density: The dry density of both products is 320 and

240kg/m³ +/-10%
